She is flanked by both Juniper berries and Rye stalks.  These are key components of our spirits.  The medallion behind her is the same medallion that surrounds The Carousel, one of Asbury Park’s most iconic buildings.  In her hair and on her crown you will find both tentacles and a seashell.  Both give homage to our location blocks from the ocean.  Finally, and arguably most importantly, her eyes are closed.  This was done intentionally.  Asbury Park is known for being one of the most accepting, collaborative, cooperative and proud communities in the country.  We chose to close her eyes to show how much we respect and embrace those values.  She is non-judgmental and welcoming to all.

Juniper, coriander, angelica root, borage, sweet orange peel, lemon peel and cardamom. Juniper in the aroma plus clean citrus: lemon and orange. Less pronounced juniper in the taste, which includes white pepper, borage, cardamom and lots of pepper — great for cocktails. A medium body. A lingering, soft, clean finish of spice.

Asbury Park Gin finished in new American oak barrels.

Light amber with an aroma of fresh oak, sweet vanilla, caramel, honey, charcoal, honeysuckle, flowers and some smoke. Flavors of leather, sweetness (honey and vanilla), pipe smoke, charcoal, oak and juniper with gin in the background. A medium, velvety body. Finishes with pepper spiciness, oak and alcohol warmth. Great for a cocktail or just to sip neat.

We are a production facility and tasting room and not a “typical bar,” so we are governed by stricter laws in regard to our cocktail program.  Legally, we are unable to sell or serve any alcohol unless we produce it on site.  This is an amazing opportunity for us to showcase our spirits.  When you visit us, you are being served a drink literally made from scratch, in house.  All the alcohol, bitters, tonics, tinctures, syrups, cordials, as well as any other of our cocktail accompaniments are all made by our incredibly talented bar staff.  It’s truly a unique experience to visit the APD Tasting Room. Come in and taste for yourself.

Kelly Lynch has been working in the restaurant industry since moving to New Jersey from Massachusetts in 2013. Her time working behind the bar sparked a love for spirits. Paired with a lifelong affinity for math and sciences, distilling seemed a natural path. A serendipitous visit to the tasting room connected her with former Master Distiller Bill Tambussi and the rest, as they say, is history.
